MAIN STREET
Residential Remodel
Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, PA
2025
Set within a historic Lawrenceville rowhouse, Main Street balances a respect for the home’s past with a more modern way of living. Rather than erasing its history, the renovation focused on introducing materials that feel as though they belong—natural marble, rich finishes, and surfaces chosen to develop character and patina with time.
In the kitchen, the original cabinetry was intentionally preserved, allowing us to transform the space without the expense or waste of starting over. A deep green was carried throughout the room, using color theory to soften the red undertones of the existing wood and allow the cabinetry to read as a much richer, warmer brown.
Upstairs, a front bedroom and tiny hall room were completely reimagined as a generous primary suite. The new layout brings together a spacious bedroom, walk-in closet, and large primary bath with a double vanity and custom shower, creating the function of a modern suite within the footprint of a historic home.
The result is a renovation that feels layered rather than new: one that embraces the imperfections, history, and character of an old house while thoughtfully adapting it for the way we live today.
